Blum acquires OL Beslag

Blum has announced the integration of OL Beslag, its long-standing distribution partner for functional furniture fittings in Denmark. The transaction, which will take effect on July 1, 2026, marks “… the evolution of a collaboration that began more than 40 years ago”.
This partnership has proven successful for decades: now we are giving it a shared future within a solid organization,” said Dietmar Rathbauer, Regional Director Western Europe at Julius Blum. According to the company, the aim is to preserve the existing structures and further develop them in a targeted way.
Kristen Søndergaard, CEO of OL Beslag, also sees the transaction as a choice of continuity. The integration will in fact make it possible to safeguard the company culture, the expertise developed in the local market, and customer relationships. The transition also comes at a time of generational change at the top of the Danish company, offering an opportunity to define a long-term strategy in advance.
For Blum, the transaction represents a further strengthening of its position in the Scandinavian market. The group, headquartered in Höchst, Austria, employs around 9,850 people worldwide and closed the 2024/2025 financial year with revenue of approximately €2.44 billion. Specializing in furniture fittings, including hinges, lift systems, and drawer systems, Blum operates in more than 120 markets globally.
