Altendorf concentrates production in Minden

In the year of its 120th anniversary, the company completes the reorganisation process launched at the beginning of 2026: production of sliding table saws and edgebanding machines is being brought together at the Minden site, which becomes Altendorf’s only production facility in Germany.

Altendorf has officially inaugurated the new production setup at its Minden site, completing the transfer of edgebanding machine production from Hüllhorst. The move brings the manufacture of the group’s sliding table saws and edgebanding machines together at a single German location.

The project, which involved an investment of several million euros, represents the final stage of the reorganisation process launched at the beginning of 2026. Since January, the entire machine portfolio has been marketed under the Altendorf brand, while from 1 August the activities were also consolidated legally and operationally under Altendorf GmbH.

Under the new setup, functions including procurement, development, product management, production and administration are also concentrated in Minden. According to the company, this closer integration should help standardise processes, increase the use of common components and reduce throughput times and production downtime. Minden therefore becomes Altendorf’s only production site in Germany, alongside the company’s plant in China, which is closely integrated with its European operations.

For customers and dealers, the reorganisation also means a single point of contact for the entire portfolio, from sliding table saws to edgebanding machines, with a more integrated management of enquiries, quotations and spare parts.

The opening coincides with Altendorf’s 120th anniversary, celebrated in 2026 under the motto “From Pioneer to The Craftsman’s Best Friend”. “There is no future without origins. Only those who know where they come from can shape the future,” commented Rainer Hundsdörfer, CEO of Altendorf, underlining the company’s ties with Minden and the expertise developed at the site throughout its history.
