13/06/2021

Marco Fantoni passed away at the age of 91 on the night between 10 and 11 June. A key figure for the woodworking sector and for the Italian industry. In the sixties, in fact, he had founded, together with his brother Piero and two other Friulian entrepreneurs, Plaxil, the first brick for what would become the Fantoni group over the years.

A constant commitment and total dedication to his work, as shown following the 1976 Friuli earthquake, when he managed, despite the difficulties, to support the company and its 300 employees without layoffs, which led him to receive , in 1984, the award of “Cavaliere del Lavoro” by the President Sandro Pertini.

His death occurs 4 months after that of his wife, Alessandra de Antoni Fantoni.
