14 new iOS apps: customers can always bank on Igus everywhere

Over 30 online tools make it very easy for igus customers to find, configure and order energy chains, cables and cable systems. For those who work not only on the PC, but also on mobile devices, now has the option to also avail of 14 motion plastics apps at the Apple App Store. The quick offline access not only saves time, but is also easy and comfortable. And that too worldwide, because the iOS apps are available worldwide in 15 languages.

At the 2015 Motek, igus displays 175 new plastic solutions for moving applications, which reduce costs and increase the service life of the application. In addition to the product development the motion plastics specialist heavily invests, within the meaning of Industry 4.0, in the digital networking of the entire process chain, starting from customer enquiry and commissioning of predominantly custom-configured applications.

The expert app finds, configures and calculates
The results from the igus test laboratory – the largest of its kind in the industry with more than 120 test facilities and 1,750 square metres – are continuously incorporated into more than 30 online tools that make it as easy as possible for the customer to find, configure and order and thus save time. A variety of online tools such as the cable service life predictor or the plain bearings expert can be used via a browser even on mobile end devices. Already at this year’s Hannover Messe, igus had announced the promotion of the mobile use via in-house apps. Each igus app basically refers to a product category. Examples are the e-chain product finder for travels up to 13 metres, the readychain hose line configurator or xiros ball bearing service life predictor. There are thus product finders, configurators and service life predictors whereby expert apps like the drylin linear bearings expert combine in itself all mentioned categories for a product group. The structure of the apps is fully geared to ease of use, so that buyers and installers can find their way immediately. Example of bar stock product finder: simply select the requirements such as underwater use, resistance to dirt or vibration damping, define the temperature range and the suitable materials are immediately displayed.

From Spanish to Korean

The iOS apps are offered not only free of cost, but are available from the start in languages such as German, English, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Spanish, Traditional and simplified Chinese, as well as in Czech and Turkish. More apps are planned to facilitate the customers in selecting the right product for their application from the more than 100,000 standard parts from igus.
