Igus: “iglidur on tour” arrives in Italy

Already more than 74 thousand kilometers were driven in transcontinental endurance test for polymer bearings. From January 2014 a small car equipped with polymer bearings, is traveling along the four continents through deserts, snow and tropical heat. A celebration of their 50th birthday and also 30 years of their self-lubricating bearing material, “iglidur”. With this challenging test, igus wants to show the potential and capabilities of its plastic materials for applications in motion. After stops in Asia, South America and North America, “iglidur on tour” has now arrived in Europe, and after going through some European countries will arrive in Italy on 23 February. In collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences Cologne, 56 points of the car were fitted with bearings “iglidur”.
