Structural wood with the wind in its sails

Structural wood was one of the protagonist of Made expo 2010, the international exhibition of projects, architecture and buildings that took place in the Milan fairgrounds located in Rho last 3-6 February. Under the spotlights there was a photo exhibition, representing the experience of the companies operating in structural wood industry during the post seismic reconstruction in Abruzzo.
At Made expo we met Paolo Ninatti, president of Assolegno. “We noticed – he said – a great interest and a moderate optimism in the structural wood industry, in spite of the difficult period caused by the economic crisis and the pessimism and in spite of the investments have been reduced. The per capita consumption of wood has doubled during the last years: we must be aware of our capabilities and potentialities”. A news of Assolegno is the new born group “Case ed edifici a struttura di legno” (wooden structure houses and buildings) that now counts 35-40 companies, but, according to the association president, during the next two years they will be 80-100.
