Shigeru Ban for Abruzzo

In occasion of Milan furniture show, Carlo Guglielmi – president of Cosmit – announced that the Japanese architect Shigeru Ban will realize a project for the collective and temporary housing spaces for the people from Abruzzo hit bay the earthquake. “We are very near to Shigeru Ban’s way of projecting – said Guglielmi – It is dedicated to the needs of receiver people, that are analyzed across the constitution of a team of students, teachers and experts”. In the past Shigeru Ban has already worked in a humanitarian crisis context (caused by an environmental catastrophe): in China, India, Turkey e Sri Lanka hit by Tsunami; today he decides to work with L’Aquila. “The architect is available to give the project – concluded Carlo Guglielmi – We hope to concrete it as soon as possible. This initiative joins the Cosmit and Federlegno-Arredo project signed by the architect Mario Cucinella for the construction of a permanent place (in definition stage)”.
