International wood composites symposium and technical workshop

In occasion of the International wood composites symposium and technical workshop, that will happen in Seattle from March 30-April 1, producers, suppliers and researchers will discuss how the wood composites industry can incorporate biomass conversion systems into their existing facilities to become a biorefinery complex capable of delivering a wide array of value-added products.
In addition, there will be presentations on the role of the composite wood industry in sustainable development and the latest innovations in product and process control.
As the industry looks for new direction in the current economic situation, it is critical to participate in forums such as this to gain an insight into the latest developments. The Symposium provides an opportunity to mingle with industry leaders and hear their thoughts about the composite industry outlook and potential”, said symposium co-chair Vik Yadama.
Symposium highlights include keynote speaker Wolf-Gerd Dieffenbacher, president & ceo of the Dieffenbacher Company, on Tuesday, March 31. He will talk about market and industry trends during the session on markets, sustainability, and biorefinery utilization.
A one-day technical workshop on “Natural fibers: their role in the carbon economy” takes place Monday, March 30. It will feature the latest research on the conversion of woody biomass to materials, chemicals, and energy.
