Refurbishing with American red oak

Two new owners of a large house in the United Kingdom, unchanged for more than forty years, have decided to refurbish it completely using the American red oak wood.
A choice also taken for complementing their cherry furniture and the warm, clean look and straight grain of the red oak worked perfectly.
The main important task was to get a very clear vision of a light, airy home, using wood to create a warm and welcoming environment.
The colour and texture of red oak, does just that. As the most commercially available hardwood from the Usa, red oak (www.americanredoak.info) is increasingly being specified where beautiful, sustainable and durable interiors are required.
In this case, red oak throughout the house, from the solid floors and surrounds to the interior French windows which allow natural light to flood the whole ground floor.
Its clear grain and light finish, which reflects natural light, is set off with finishing touches such as handcrafted and stained Italian door furniture.
The effect for visitors is very interesting: standard 1960’s semi outside and an open plan, contemporary family home inside.
