Rougier opens a new sawmill in Gabon

Rougier (www.rougier.fr), the specialis in African tropical timber, with two million hectares of forests under sustainable management in Cameroon, Gabon and Congo, today announced that it is expanding its production capacity in Gabon with the opening of a third factory in the country.
This new mill is the seventh Rougier’s facility in the Congo basin and is part of company’s strategy of driving business growth through sustainable forestry management.
Rougier has invested three million euros in the Mevang plant, which has an annual sawnwood capacity of 14,000 cubic meters. The factory will be fully operational within the end of 2007.
By 2009, Rougier plans to double the production capacity of the new Mevang sawnmill.
