Interzum 2025: datas and trends

The 2025 edition of interzum, the biennial trade fair dedicated to materials, components, and technologies for the furniture and interior design industries, has wrapped up in Cologne. Over the course of four days, the event welcomed approximately 60,000 trade visitors from 148 countries, with international attendance accounting for 77 percent of the total. On the exhibitor side, 1,616 companies from 57 countries took part, covering a total gross exhibition area of 176,000 square meters. The share of international exhibitors reached 86 percent.

Among the countries with the highest number of visitors were Italy, China, Spain, Poland, and the Netherlands, reflecting broad and widespread interest. The three main product segments — Function & Components, Materials & Nature, and Textile & Machinery — offered a comprehensive overview of the industry, with a wide range of solutions, innovations, and world premieres.

The central theme of this edition, “Rethinking Resources: Circular and Biobased Solutions,” was reflected across many exhibitor presentations, showcasing recycled materials, biobased products, low-impact production systems, and circular processes. Sustainability was also a key focus in the event program, which featured forums, seminars, and expert discussions on environmental challenges and strategies for more resource-efficient production.

A highlight of the fair was the interzum award, which in 2025 featured a special category dedicated to the theme of the edition. Out of 146 entries from 80 companies across 23 countries, the jury selected 66 innovations with strong future potential. Twelve of these received the “Best of the Best” distinction. Awarded products were showcased in a special exhibition along the Boulevard Nord, drawing considerable attention from visitors.
