Tecnosalgo presents Edge Tower for automated edge-band management

Tecnosalgo has expanded its edgebanding portfolio with “Edge Tower”, a system designed to automate the management of edge-band rolls in the furniture industry and reduce errors, downtime and operational inefficiencies.

The solution was developed to improve a stage that is still often handled manually, from changing rolls and selecting the correct edge band to monitoring stock levels. These operations can cause machine stoppages, operator errors and difficulties in material traceability.

“Edge Tower” is an automated vertical storage system connected to the edgebander. It uses the proprietary “Edge Tower OS” software and identifies rolls through barcodes or RFID technology, automatically feeds the machine and can be integrated with company management systems.

Its stated objectives include reducing unproductive time, eliminating selection errors, ensuring material traceability and automating inventory management. The structure is also modular and scalable, allowing it to adapt to different production layouts and storage capacities.

The integration of hardware, software and connectivity enables “Edge Tower” to be incorporated into digital factory processes, with production monitoring, data analysis and connection to ERP systems. The solution is aimed in particular at companies seeking to automate the ancillary stages of edgebanding and create a more continuous flow between storage and the machine.
