90 thousand visitors at Ligna 2011

Closed today the 2011 edition of Ligna, the big event of woodworking technology, which opened its gates in Hanover on 30 May.
At the press conference, which ended at 12 today, first data have been announced: 90 thousand visitors, 13 percent more than 80 thousand in 2009 (we remind that the record of the event was 107 thousand visitors in 2007). Of these 90 thousand the 40 percent came from abroad, the number of foreign visitors grew by 26 percent. In a more modest increase of 6 per cent  was the attendance of German operators.
But initial assessments, awaiting the final figures, do not stop there: according to information gathered by the organizers, the orders signed at the fair would grow 30 percent over 2009.
Slight increase on the exhibitors’ side, which this year were 1,763, only 7 more than the “terrible” 2009.
In short, a more positive atmosphere that everyone hope is just the beginning of a new season for the entire supply chain.
