For the future “Technicians 4.0” of the LegnoArredo Training Center – ITS Rosario Messina, a 40-hour online virtual business laboratory in collaboration with the Rimini group Scm, world leader in technologies for second wood processing. Objective: to overcome the limitations to training in the classroom and in the company, generated by the Covid-19 health emergency, continuing to guarantee the students of the LegnoArredo Training Center in Lentate sul Seveso a high level training on technological innovations more in line with the latest trends of the furniture and design sector.
Between the end of June and July, twenty-three students from the ITS “INDUSTRY 4.0 – Higher Technician for Design and Industrialization in the Wood Furniture Sector” course were able to learn more about the software and technologies most in line with the needs of Industry 4.0. The training package studied together with Scm included 36 hours in the virtual classroom on Scm “Maestro” software (basic and advanced 3D) and other hours of remote demo on some of the most popular SCM numerical control work centers in the furniture industry. , such as the drilling and milling center for the “morbidelli m100” panel (the same one with which children learn the secrets of the trade every day in the school’s carpentry workshop) and the new “morbidelli x200” nesting machining center.
Students who have been able to take advantage of the Scm expertise, attend a Post-Diploma High Technical Specialization course, an opportunity of absolute importance in the Italian training panorama, as an expression of a new strategy that combines education, training and work policies with the country’s industrial policies. The Italian response to the demand of companies, through a highly qualified training offer, of new and high technical skills to promote the processes of innovation and technology transfer, in the logic of Smart Specialization.
