New leadership for Fraunhofer

Change at the top for Fraunhofer, the German Institute for Environmental, Safety and Energy Technology. Taking over the institute’s leadership will be Christian Doetsch and Manfred Renner.

New leadership, clear goals: circular economy and energy efficiency. “We are confident that their experience will contribute greatly to the success of the institute and the achievement of these goals,” commented Reimund Neugerbauer, president of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft.

I am entuasiastic about the appointment,” commented Renner . “The goal is to continue on the path of innovation and sustainability, developing new solutions and sustainable techniques and designs in response to large-scale social and economic challenges.” 

We are experiencing a period of particularly important political and economic change,” added Christian Doetsch. “A new situation that is highlighting our social, economic, energy weaknesses. This is why I consider our commitment to responsible research that can provide not only new solutions, but also new perspectives from a technological, economic and energy perspective, to be crucial“.
