Offering professionals in the furniture industry greater freedom in design choice, configuration and material processing — this is the goal pursued by Rehau Interior Solutions, which presented its latest portfolio of components and services at Sicam 2025. Designed to make furniture design more flexible, the updated range of edgebands, surfaces and roller-shutter systems enables manufacturers, joiners and interior designers to combine aesthetics, functionality and sustainability while maintaining high quality standards and ease of processing.
At the trade fair in Pordenone, Rehau Interior Solutions demonstrated how continuous technological innovation can generate tangible added value. At Hall 5, Stand E10/F11, the company showcased the harmony of a fully integrated design approach, where edgebands, surfaces and roller shutters — offered in a wide variety of colours and décors — are perfectly coordinated.
The award-winning “Raukantex” edgebands
The “Raukantex” family of edgebands continues to expand with the aim of enabling furniture with a seamless, monolithic look. Among the most recent developments are “Raukantex pigmento” and “Raukantex canvas”.
“Raukantex pigmento” represents an important step forward thanks to pigment-infused milling radii that allow the décor to extend across the entire edge, minimising visible transitions and eliminating the frame effect. The result is a high-quality finish, particularly effective when combined with decorative surfaces that reproduce wood, ceramic or stone. In the “Raukantex pigmento Wood” version, the grain within the milling radius has been further refined for an even more natural effect, earning the High Product Quality Award at Interzum 2025.
Capable of transferring décor onto the edge with remarkable detail and no visible pattern repetition, “Raukantex canvas” is the ideal solution for structured worktops and intricate designs. An additional layer enhances the décor with a tactile 3D effect. This premium edgeband also supports custom décors, such as company logos, without compromising quality or durability.
In terms of sustainability, the “Raukantex eco” edgeband — winner of the German Innovation Award 2024 — and the entire “Raukantex PP” line meet the stringent requirements of the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. Rehau is also strengthening its commitment to circularity through the “ReTurn” edgeband recovery programme.
Structured and glass-effect surfaces: the new “Rauvisio” range
The “Rauvisio” surface portfolio continues to grow, with several new additions unveiled at SICAM 2025, including the architecturally inspired textures of the “Rauvisio cube” collection. The “Urban Concrete” variant — with its natural cavities and striking 3D effect — received both the Red Dot Design Award 2025 and the Interzum Guangzhou Award 2025. From 2026, it will be joined by “Desert Stone”, a textured surface reminiscent of naturally aged stone, available in four décors that combine authenticity with elegance and match perfectly with “Rauvisio noir”. Visitors were also given a preview of new structured surfaces currently under development.
The event also marked the relaunch of the “Rauvisio crystal Strong” collection, featuring six new décors for the glass-effect laminate surfaces designed for kitchen and contract applications. These are highly resistant and easy to process, like all variants in the “Rauvisio crystal” range. The new décors, colour-matched with “Rauvisio noir”, will be available from spring 2026.
Roller-shutter systems: functional design and sustainability
The “Flipdoor” system — featuring an innovative space-saving slatted opening mechanism — evolves to ensure a perfect match in design, texture and finish, not only with “Rauvisio crystal” surfaces but also with other solutions in the range. One of the highlights at the company’s stand was the combination of “Flipdoor” and “Rauvisio cube”, illustrating how new material and colour worlds can be created.
Among the other innovations presented was a paintable roller-shutter version that can be produced to match the design of various kitchen manufacturers’ panels, including lacquered front collections. With “Rauvolet eco”, Rehau adds a sustainable option to its roller-shutter range: made entirely from 100% post-industrial recycled (PIR) material supplied by certified partners, it achieves up to 25% CO₂ savings while maintaining the brand’s standard quality. The product is also customisable and available in all colours and décors of traditional PP systems.
Measurable sustainability: EPDs for the entire product range
Rehau is the first supplier of components for the furniture industry to provide official Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for the main solutions of its Interior Solutions division — including “Raukantex” edgebands, “Rauvisio” surfaces and “Rauvolet” roller-shutter systems.
With the aim of enabling customers to make more sustainable purchasing decisions based on verified environmental indicators, these EPDs — certified by the independent Institut Bauen und Umwelt e. V. (IBU) — include the GWP-total (Global Warming Potential), expressed in kilograms of CO₂ equivalent (CO₂e). This index provides transparent data on the total climate-impact emissions generated throughout the entire product life cycle, from raw materials and production to end-of-life disposal.
