Siempelkamp is strengthening its foothold in Southeast Asia with the opening of a new office in Bangkok, operational since 2024. The German group, among the world’s leading suppliers of plants for the wood-based panel industry, aims to enhance customer proximity, service quality, and response capability in one of the most dynamic markets in the world.
The company’s presence in the region is not new: Singapore has hosted the Asian headquarters since 1989, while Kuala Lumpur has been active since 2007. The new Thai office represents the third step in a broader consolidation strategy in the area, driven by the strong vitality of the local wood industry. In Thailand, in fact, more than 22 “ContiRoll®” presses are currently in operation, a figure that reflects decades of collaboration with major panel manufacturers.
Starting January 2026, the Bangkok office will be led by Daniel Bacic, a professional with extensive experience in the sector and previously responsible for the Malaysian branch over the past eight years. His appointment is part of the goal of strengthening after-sales service, enhancing the local technical presence, and ensuring rapid responses in terms of support and spare parts — increasingly central elements for Asian investors.
At the same time, the Kuala Lumpur office will be entrusted to Bee Koon Lee, a Malaysian professional with a strong international background and experience gained in the woodworking industry.
“The opening of the office in Thailand confirms our commitment to delivering service excellence directly on the ground,” says Henning Gloede, managing director of Siempelkamp. “Southeast Asia remains for us a strategic and steadily growing market.”
