New innovation award for Altendorf Group

The Altendorf Group has been awarded ‘Innovator of the Year 2022’ by Die Deutsche Wirtschaft (DDW) for its Hand Guard solution.
“The award underlines our innovative strength and confirms our claim to create an industry-wide safety standard for sliding table saws with our Hand Guard system,” said Vit Kafka, cso of the group.

“We started this development three years ago and are pioneers when it comes to early recognition of a dangerous situation. AI, or artificial intelligence, helps us to do this,‘ said Peter Schwenk, CEO of the Altendorf Group. The optical Hand Guard system is the world’s first and only certified safety assistance system for sliding table saws.

Over the years, it has been studied that in Germany alone there are an average of 120 accidents per month related to sliding table saws. This is why Altendorf has developed a safety system that ensures that hands are not exposed to danger when using a sliding table saw.
