The invasion perpetrated by Russia against Ukraine continues and, after the sanctions foreseen in the last few days, several companies have decided to terminate their relations with Russian companies. Among these, Koelnmesse has also opted for the interruption of collaborations with Russian companies. A choice that follows the decisions of the German government towards Russia. A strong stance that we report here, with the press release reached us in the editorial office.
“At Koelnmesse we are closely following current developments in Ukraine, as are the people of all nations around the world. Acts of war like this are the absolute antithesis of our own values. As a trade fair organiser, we stand wholeheartedly for peaceful coexistence, free trade and the unrestricted exchange of goods around the world.
Unfortunately, this exchange is no longer possible at the moment. In accordance with the measures and requirements of the German Government, we are suspending our cooperation with Russian companies at our trade fairs until further notice. We will, however, remain in contact with our partners in Russia, some of whom we have worked with for many years now. Although they have been banned from participating de facto, we do not place blame on them for the current developments.
We at Koelnmesse have been especially pleased to know that our on-site sales team is doing well considering the circumstances. Our thoughts are with them and we will provide our team with all the support we can from Cologne“.
