Biesse: more than 209 million euros in the first quarter

Biesse – one of the leading players in woodworking technology – has released its results for the first quarter of 2023. Sales revenues reached EUR 209.5 million, an increase of 6.6 per cent compared to the first quarter of 2022 (EUR 196.6 million). “The results achieved in the first quarter and approved – commented group cfo Pierre La Tour – testify to how Biesse took full advantage of global demand for capital goods during 2022, closing the year with a sustained order backlog that will be reflected in 2023 revenues”.
And for the near future?
It is necessary to take a cautious approach to future prospects. Demand projections are complicated by the continuation of restrictive monetary policies that have a direct impact on interest rates, combined with the termination of government incentives that have stimulated domestic market demand in recent years“.

Ebitda in the first quarter was EUR 28 million, an increase of 7.2 per cent compared to the same period last year (EUR 26.1 million). Net profit reached EUR 12.3 million, 26.4 per cent higher than in 2022 (EUR 9.8 million).

In the first quarter of 2023, machine order intake decreased by 25.1 per cent compared to the first quarter of 2022, due to the termination of government incentives in the domestic market.
