Catas: "The fire won’t stop us!"

It’s a hard day for Catas: yesterday morning at six o’clock one of the labs of the Italian research and testing laboratory for the wood and furniture industry in San Giovanni al Natisone branch was set on fire. The structure, proof machinery and all the building content have been completely destroyed, with a loss of about millions euros.

The essential job made by the eight firemen’s equipes from Udine and Gorizia permitted to control the fire and to restrict it to the building from where it broke out, for unknown reasons. Anyway, the Catas activity is going on in the other labs in Friuli and in Lissone branch.

“We’re from Friuli and we learned to never stop when we are in front of a catastrophe
”, commented Andrea Giavon, managing director of the research centre, who immediately run with the whole Catas team to the disaster area. “We’re choosing a warehouse to rent as soon as possible and ordered some of the machines we need urgently, because we want to open again very soon and continue to give our clients the services everyone expects from us”.
“It’s a though blow – concluded Giavon – but not though enough to stop us!”

In the next days, despite Christmas’ holidays, Catas will work hard in order to rapidly reorganize everything. It’s the message that Angelo Speranza, the institute ceo and founder, launced – as soon as the emergency stopped – to all the Catas employees and collaborators that he wanted to reunite not far from the fire of the “forniture lab”. A strong message, an invitation to look to “…what’s necessary to do very soon, in order to get back to where we were, even better!”

“I’d like to say thank you to all of you who are already giving us precious demonstrations of their disponibility, and all of you who are by our side even in this very hard moment, clients, partners and institutions”
, concluded Speranza.
