Homag Group: the positive trend holds on

After a golden year in 2006, Homag Group – based in Schopfloch in Germany and one of the major manufacturers of machines and plants for wood processing in industry and handicraft worldwide – recorded once again positive results in 2007. A “peculiar” year for the “made in Germany” giant, characterized by the S-Dax listing in the stock exchange and by the targets set by the property and management to achieve new expansion goals to be achieved in terms of dimensions and product offer on the market.
2007 closed with +13% in turnover (from 736 millions in 2006 to 837), and +58% in net profits, whereas orders increased by “just” +19% (in 2006 it was 21%).
The first quarter of 2008 confirmed the pose with a two-digit increase of both net profits (+16%) and turnover (+18%). Particularly important is the employment growth in the past months: worldwide 413 new workplaces were created leading to 5,527 (from 5,114) people “on the books” on 31st December 2007. 280 new workplaces have been created in Germany.
