Homag invests over €50 million in new facility in Poland
Homag is strengthening its manufacturing presence in Europe with the opening of its new facility in Środa Wielkopolska, Poland. The investment of over 50 million euros, one of the largest in the German group’s history, brings together all Homag Polska operations under one roof, having previously been spread across several buildings in the area.
The new complex covers an area of more than 50,000 square metres and employs approximately 650 people. It houses production, engineering, logistics, service and administration activities, with the aim of streamlining processes and improving operational efficiency.
The facility includes a production area, an automated vertical warehouse and a competence centre with a showroom, designed to present Homag technologies and provide consultancy and training services for customers in the woodworking and furniture industries, with a particular focus on Eastern European markets.
Sustainability was also taken into account in the construction of the complex. Wood was used as a building material for the offices, while the facility is equipped with photovoltaic systems and heat recovery technologies.
“Poland plays a central role in the European woodworking and furniture industry“, said Daniel Schmitt, CEO of Homag Group. For the group, the country represents not only an important market but also a strategic hub for manufacturing and technological development. The new facility will contribute to both product development activities and the strengthening of the group’s international production network.
The opening also coincides with the 25th anniversary of Homag Polska, marking an important milestone in the group’s development in the country.
The project is part of a broader multi-year investment programme by Homag, worth more than 200 million euros in total. Of this amount, approximately 120 million euros have been allocated to the construction and modernisation of the group’s German facilities, including its headquarters in Schopfloch, where improvements are planned for production and logistics areas, offices and the customer centre.
