Unilin invests 40 million euros in new insulation panel plant in Poland

30/04/2025

Belgian building materials company Unilin has announced the construction of a fully automated production facility in Leśnica, Poland, dedicated to polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation panels. Operations are scheduled to begin by the end of 2026.

With an annual capacity of 8 million square meters, the new plant — Unilin’s ninth production site — will create 40 new jobs and serve as a strategic hub for Eastern European markets, including Poland, eastern Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary. The site will host the company’s eighth insulation line, designed to process recycled raw materials and manufacture high-performance Utherm PIR panels for roofs, walls, and floors.

According to Jeroen De Temmerman, President of Unilin’s Insulation division, the investment supports the company’s expansion beyond its established markets in Western Europe, responding to strong regional growth. The project is part of Unilin’s broader strategy to diversify risk, enhance sustainability, and meet the EU’s increasingly stringent insulation standards under the European Green Deal.
