Dürr expands training center with new sealing robot cell

08/07/2025

German group Dürr, which owns woodworking giant Homag, has expanded its training center in Bietigheim-Bissingen with the addition of a new sealing robot cell. Since May 2025, customers have been receiving hands-on training on the latest sealing technology under near-real production conditions.

The new cell is equipped with two next-generation robots, the “EcoRS N20i” and the “EcoRS L15i”, mounted on an “EcoRail HS”. It also includes advanced dosing and application technologies such as the “EcoShot Meter” and “EcoGun2 3D”, as well as the “EcoTemp PT” temperature control system, which ensures highly viscous sealing materials reach the correct processing temperature.

“This expansion allows us to offer comprehensive training on the mechanical and electrical maintenance of the technology, as well as on operating and programming the robots,” explained José Gamero, Head of the Dürr Training Center.

In 2024, around 1,000 participants received training at the Bietigheim facility, with an additional 100 courses delivered directly at customer sites. With the new robot cell, Dürr aims to increase capacity and flexibility, enabling multiple sessions to run in parallel and addressing the growing demand for specialized technical skills.
