Homag: positive figures in 2025

05/03/2026

Homag recorded an improvement in its results in 2025 in terms of orders. According to preliminary data, in 2025 the company’s orders reached €1.38 billion, up from €1.357 billion in 2024. Growth was mainly driven by the segment of production systems for the construction of wooden houses, which recorded a new order record and the largest contract so far in the timber construction sector. Orders therefore increased slightly, while revenue recorded a slight decline compared with the previous year.
The persistent weakness of the furniture manufacturers’ market affected revenue, which in 2025 stood at €1.372 billion, down from €1.413 billion in 2024.
According to CEO Daniel Schmitt, trade tensions and tariff conflicts are increasing uncertainty in the furniture industry, slowing the recovery in demand. The order backlog as of December 31, 2025 fell to €726 million, compared with €781 million the previous year.

Despite this, the group significantly improved its profitability. EBIT before extraordinary effects increased by about 50%, reaching €76.1 million compared with €50.8 million the previous year, with a 5.5% margin compared with 3.6% in 2024. The improvement is mainly linked to cost reductions, particularly personnel measures, and the stability of the service business.

During 2025 the company also reduced its workforce: as of December 31, 2025, employees numbered 6,471, compared with 6,802 the previous year.

For 2026, Homag expects different developments across its main business areas. Demand in the production technology for wooden houses segment is expected to continue growing, while it remains uncertain when the furniture market will return to stable growth.

For the group as a whole, the company currently expects orders and revenue to remain in line with 2025 levels, with a target of an EBIT margin between 5 percent and 6 percent.
