From wood to plastics and composites: Salvador optimizing saws at Xylexpo

01/06/2026

At Xylexpo 2026, cutting is no longer just about wood. Plastics, composites, coated panels and technical profiles have different processing requirements, but share a common need: precise, repeatable and reliable cutting over time. This is the context in which Salvador presents its solutions, drawing on more than 40 years of experience in the design of cross-cut saws and optimizing saws.

Salvador machines were originally developed for woodworking, but their field of application now extends to other materials as well. Mechanical robustness, cutting precision and operational continuity are also key factors in the processing of PVC profiles, coated panels, solid or hollow tubes, visible plastic components and composite materials.

Each material reacts differently to cutting. Resistance, required finish, blade behaviour and the need to preserve finished or visible surfaces can all change from one application to another. For this reason, Salvador focuses on blade selection, feed speed and the technical adjustments needed to maintain consistent cutting quality.

For finished or more delicate materials, the company offers the Accurate configuration on “Superpush 200″ and “Superpush 250″ machines. This solution is designed for precision machining while reducing the risk of damaging the surface of the workpiece. Typical applications include PVC for window frames, coated panels and plastic components intended to remain visible.

Salvador’s presence at Xylexpo comes in an edition of the event that is placing greater emphasis on the convergence between different supply chains. For woodworking companies, Salvador optimizing saws can represent a way to expand production possibilities. For companies working with plastics and composites, they offer a concrete alternative to more complex or dedicated systems, especially where flexibility, structural solidity and process continuity are required.

Salvador will be at Xylexpo 2026, scheduled from 9 to 12 June at Fieramilano Rho, in Hall 14, Stand H11, where it will present its machines in operation and the configurations available for different production requirements.
